Coastal Home Inspection Services finds the Defects "before" you move in...


While each home in unique and individual in nature, our specialized training and inspection of hundreds of properties has given us the experience and technical knowledge to identify and report defects.

Below are examples of common defects we encounter:
    



Exterior
The home's exterior protects it from the elements, most importantly water andwood rot moisture.  Water intrusion can cause significant damage to both the exterior and interior of a home.  We use electronic testing equipment to detect and confirm any suspect areas of water/moisture damage.

Attic
The raftebroken trussr/truss system is an integral part of the structure of any home.  We thoroughly inspect all areas of the attic to identify any areas where these systems may have been damaged or installed improperly.

Plumbing
In older homes, plumbing systems are especially susceptible to failure and leaks.  Certain water leakmaterials used for water supply lines are no longer used in newer construction due to past problems.  Identification of materials and testing for leaks is an important part of the inspection process.

Electrical
Problems wiburned_elec_boxth electrical systems are especially important to identify as they pose safety concerns.  Our inspection of the electrical system is designed to find any improper installations as well as confirm proper working order of all outlets, fixtures, and safety devices such as breakers, GFCIs, and smoke detectors.

Heating & Air Conditioning
The HVAC system is an important shvacystem to test as they typically have a lifespan ranging from 10-20 years.  This lifespan can vary depending on manufacturer, type, usage, location, weather conditions, etc.  Our testing of this system is designed to ensure proper installation and functioning of the system.
