Amaze Your Friends
Amaze Your Friends

Here are some interesting and entertaining facts about homes that are sure to keep you amused and "amaze your friends" with your vast knowledge...

President George Washington began construction on the White House in 1792, although he "never lived there."  The White House was completed in 1800 (18 years later), just in time for President John Adams to move in.  George Washington left office in 1797 and died in 1799, before the White House was finished...

The motion picture Groundhog Day with Bill Murray was set in the small town of Punxsutawney, PA.  The Bed n Breakfast home showcased in the film is "not" actually located in Punxsutawney, PA.  In fact, it is not even in the state of Pennsylvania.  The home is found in the small town of Woodstock, IL (just outside of Chicago).

The home thought to be the "oldest home in America" is located in New Hampshire.  An archaelogical team uncovered a structure, now referred to as "America's Stonehenge".  The structure consists of a rock bunker on the surface leading to underground chambers formed into rooms and passageways.  The estimated age for this pre-historic looking home is thought to be approximately 4,000 years making it the oldest home in America...
